Choosing a Name with Meaning

When I began creating my wellness practice, one of the biggest decisions I faced was what to call it. Names carry energy, meaning, and purpose. For me, Chrysalis Hypnosis and Wellness wasn’t just a brand—it was a declaration of my journey and what I wanted to offer others.

The chrysalis stage—a time of quiet, unseen transformation—is the space I wanted to create for others:
A safe place where you don’t have to be “ready” or perfect. You can simply be, rest, and allow healing to begin.


From People Pleaser to Permission Giver

I spent most of my life as a chronic people pleaser, believing my worth depended on how much I could give. Becoming a single mother only amplified this pressure. My career in banking demanded even more.

Stress became my constant companion. I ignored the warning signs until my body forced me to listen.


The Body Keeps the Score

Eventually, chronic pain, fatigue, and emotional exhaustion caught up with me. My body was holding years of suppressed needs and untold stories.
The truth: I didn’t know how to stop.

Letting go of my identity as the capable banker, the selfless mom, the fixer—it was terrifying.
But it was necessary.


Enter: The Chrysalis

Through breathwork, meditation, and hypnosis, I found a path back to myself. The chrysalis became a symbol for me—a sacred, slow, messy space for transformation.

Inside the chrysalis, the caterpillar doesn’t just grow wings—it dissolves.
That’s what healing looks like: unbecoming, resting, and allowing yourself to reform.


Hypnosis as a Healing Cocoon

Hypnosis became a doorway to rewiring deeply rooted beliefs like:

  • "I have to do it all."

  • "Rest is laziness."

  • "If I say no, they’ll leave."

It gave me permission to pause and listen to my body’s wisdom. Through hypnosis, I managed physical pain, released emotional patterns, and rediscovered stillness.

This experience inspired me to offer the same space for others—a healing cocoon, not a place to fix, but a place to rest and transform.


More Than a Metaphor

We celebrate the butterfly, but we rarely talk about the chrysalis—the in-between, the grief, the uncertainty.
That’s the space I hold for clients.
It’s where burnout, chronic pain, and identity loss can start to soften.

Healing doesn’t happen when we push harder.
It happens when we feel safe to soften.
